The Go-Giver Project (GGP) will be a unique but impactful short term mentoring initiative designed to teach young people the importance of giving back to their community by connecting them with community minded professionals using a strategic team mentoring approach. Our Project is based on the book The Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann. Their business parable contradicts the notion that to be successful in business you need to be a go-getter, a competitive hard-charger focused on getting new clients and making ever-bigger deals. Instead, the authors contend you should make giving rather than getting your first priority in business and in life—and success will follow. Becoming a “go-giver” means giving value to others, not as a strategy or quid pro quo, but as a way of leading a satisfying life.
Young Ladies will be mentored by a team of professional women over a four or five-week period. Each week a young lady will spend two to three hours with a different woman that will provide valuable life lessons in a safe environment.
At the core of the Go-Giver project is mentorship. Not in the traditional sense of mentoring where there may be a long term relationship but more focused on short impact which could lead to long term success.
